As hunters, we always say that there is so much more to the hunt than the kill and having a first-time hunter come along to experience the thrill of the chase will help prove that. Exciting bow hunting and archery news from Bushmen Safaris in South Africa
One of the species available to take down at the Bushmen Safaris wildlife conservancy in South Africa is the Blue Wildebeest.
You may think you know what type of hunter you are... but what does your Zodiac sign say about your hunting personality? Astrologers probably never have hunters in mind when coming up with horoscopes. Find your Zodiac sign below and see just how close it really is.
At first glance, hunting the Black Wildebeest may seem rather easy, as on the open plain where he is often found, he will be relatively easy to locate. However, closing the distance on him may be an entirely different matter; his excellent senses and herd instinct make hunting Black Wildebeest quite a challenge. This member of the antelope family is an ox-like animal with unusual horns, a beard, and hair on his nose. He is dark brown in color with a horse-like tail, which is almost pure white. Hence, he is sometimes called the white-tailed gnu. The name wildebeest was given it by early Dutch settlers in South Africa who regarded it as a wild ox. "Gnu" is a Hottentot word that describes its characteristic bellowing snort. These strange looking \“beests\” occur naturally only in South Africa. With both sexes carrying horns, it sometimes takes much patience to distinguish the bulls from the cows.
Fall is almost here, and you know what that means.
It’s time to start thinking about getting your mind right while sitting in a tree.
At Bushmen Safaris, we know what it takes to provide a quality bow hunt and we are proud to provide a world-class selection of animals for our hunters including the Red Hartebeest.
